Santa Barbara, California is truly one of a kind on this planet, but I grew-up just below the Western Sierras a couple hours Southwest of Lake Tahoe and have a deep, innate attraction to the granite, rivers, pines and cedars of the Sierra Nevadas. For one reasons or another, California has my heart. I drink the coffee, I run the trails, ride the mountains, float the rivers, speak the Spanish, love the people and take the pictures. I start businesses too (I’m lookin’ at you, Keto Brainz folks). 

I’ve been a photographer for well over 13 years now and am honestly a bit surprised at how much I’ve ended-up appreciating photographing everything from travel/nature/landscape to portraiture and weddings. Just being present and focused with people, witnessing/capturing those fleeting and beautiful moments they share with one another has exposed me to so much authentic humanity – it’s really been a gift to witness so much of it, so intimately and so frequently. Presence and authenticity are the things that really make being here on this Earth so great, in my mind, and in my approach to photographing people, as well.
